Howdy I'm Blu (Once upon a time ago known as Bluejay)! You can call me a hobby/freelance artist or just an artist to be honest! In the past I did more freelance but these days I'm on an indefinite break aside from the odd job here and there! I've been drawing ever since I was younger but really got into it upon discovering the joy that was the 2000's internet! Things like Flipnote Hatena, Warrior Cats, anime and other online artists were some of my early big inspirations. Ever since then I've been posting my work and have even been involved in some online communities/projects! Nowadays though I really just aspire to chill and have casual fun with art just like I did when I was younger!Overall creating is a way for me to express myself, explore, understand and show appreciation for things around me! I create for myself first and foremost and if other folks happen to like what I make along the way then that's pretty rad! I love to dabble in all sorts of things whether it be digital, traditional, handicrafts, music playlist curation and more! What I mostly post though is my digital "anime" styled stuff! It tends to consist of clean/messy sketch pieces, humans/humanoid or ferals. Often the pieces will feature my original characters (Dreamscape) if not myself, my partner or my friends!Dreamscape is the title of my body of work featuring my Original Characters (OC's), some of which are over a decade old now! I mostly focus on the "main'' cluster of them and their stories which intertwine with the larger cast of OC's in Dreamscape! ❥ CAN I BE INSPIRED, STUDY OR TRY ASPECTS OF YOUR STYLE?Yes! I’m honored if you enjoy my work style in some capacity and want to try aspects of it! I just ask you be mindful of not crossing the boundary between inspiration and stealing if you're inspired by me (or even others work). Trying out /taking aspects of a style is all good! Studying the style fully for studies or memes is all good! Entirely trying to mimic my style day in/out or tracing it to claim as your own is NOT ok!This is a small side advice tangent- Almost every artist has been inspired by other artists styles over the years (myself included)! However I’ve seen some artist (usually younger) get so inspired they try to entirely mimic others style and persona/identity entirely! There is a line between being inspired versus practically stealing someone else's creative identity. Styles are your unique own perception of the world around you, techniques and a fusion of multiple things you like! Not just completely replicating someone else! Have fun exploring, taking some pieces and trying things out but make it your own overall! Kinda like a mosaic of all the things you love in a way only you can put together! <3

❥ CAN WE BE FRIENDS / CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT SOMEONE?• Can we be friends?
This is a rather uncomfortable question as friendship isn't quite a yes or no thing- it's something that happens organically. My best answer for this personally is a gentle not impossible but unlikely. Personally I just enjoy casually socializing with others online whether they're acquaintances or strangers.
*Please keep in mind even if we interact and I respond on socials to you (Ex. Your comment/replies to things) it does NOT mean we are automatically friends. Frequency of interaction does not inherently reflect on closeness between individuals.• Can you tell me about someone?
While sometimes I don't mind this type of question I'll be honest this can be invasive! Due to previous experiences of people approaching me with this type of question (for self serving intentions). Usually folks will share what they're comfy with and excessive personal questions or prying is off putting!
*I must be blunt here- If you're asking anything like this because you see me as a potential avenue to getting close with another user/creator or because you're overly nosy about mine/other folks personal lives then you need to back off.

❥ SONA/OC QUESTIONS (WHERE/CAN I../WHAT)?• Where can I find your reference sheets?
You can find all the references for myself, Cook (My Partner) and my OC's over on my Toyhouse !
I tend to put the most relevant references as the first few images in each individuals gallery but there's tons of miscellaneous art in there to reference or just look at generally!• Can I draw/make fanart of your OC's or you?
Yes I love and would super appreciate that! All I ask is that you please respect my boundaries though if you do!
❌- NO NSFW/MATURE! I only allow this of my ADULT OC's drawn by ADULT friends with my EXPLICIT permission. Tasteful nudity (shirtless/no genitalia) is the only exception to this. Anything that strays more mature/overly sensual must be ok'd by me!
❌- NO SHIPPING MY OC'S/SONAS WITH YOUR OC'S/SONAS! I'm not comfortable with my OC's being shipped with others OC's. The only exception for this is with close (with my permission) usually just for jokes/memes. Absolutely under no circumstance shipping of me/my partner with any others/others OC's.• Can I "Kin" your OC's?
NO KINNING. I don't mind people RELATING to my OCs however full on kinning (Meaning you feel "I am actually literally them" is NOT allowed. I understand the definition of "kin" has changed and can vary these days to just mean "I casually relate " but my experiences in the past have put me off to it and understand it as "I am them actually". My OC's are personal to me and an extension of me. They are ME/mine to "kin" if anything. Kinning is not ok to do with me nor my OC's. There are plenty of public media characters for you to kin, do not use my personal characters.• Whats Dreamscape? Will you make it a comic or something?

I'm not closed off to the idea of it becoming something "more" one day- but I'm plenty happy with it as is in it's current chaotic form!

.✦ What is it? ✦.

Dreamscape is the title of my body of work featuring my Original Characters (OC's), some of which are over a decade old now! I mostly focus on the "main'' cluster of them and their stories which intertwine with the larger cast of OC's in Dreamscape! While I've organized it rather seriously to a degree it's really just my fun passion hobby blend of art and writing!Dreamscape and its characters go back to when I was in middle school! I made some OC's that loosely had a plot inspired by shonen anime and Warrior Cats! All the characters were basically cats if not some other creature. Over time I explored more fantasy magic elements and started drawing human forms of the characters more. After going through a variety of AU's, teenage angst plot points, designs and additional characters it sorta settled into the version it's seen as today! While there's more of a general "plot" now I still fondly dabble with older versions of the story and OC's! Dreamscape evolved to the point there are now 85+ characters in the cast however only a quarter take focus. The few are essentially the main characters or are very close to them. I've been incredibly lucky to have friends who have been willing to contribute, hype and play around with the ideas of Dreamscape over the years that have ultimately helped me shape it into the more extensive version it is today. It's always wild to remember it all stemmed from a small story about a bunch of cats going on a journey from when I was a tween!Overall despite experimenting with the idea of making Dreamscape something more "official" over the years at this time I'm much happier keeping it more so for myself (and my friends). I do love sharing my OC's, their stories and the artwork I make to accompany them with others from time to time. In the end though Dreamscape will always be something just for me to have fun daydreaming away about!

.✦ General Layout ✦.

Dreamscape can be divided into three parts known as Purple, Blue and Pink that fuse all together to make Dreamscape. These parts exist generally just to make it easier to organize the large group of characters, their stories and serve as sort of lore to the main trio. That trio being Daichi (DS:Blue), Akumu (DS:Purple) and Norah (DS:Pink). Admittedly DS:Pink is the least developed of the parts. Norah however is what officially kicked off "Dreamscape" in the capacity it is today. When she officially became a character marks when Dreamscape transitioned from the smaller story into the larger series of stories it is today.The story of Dreamscape basically revolves around Akumu (also known as Michael), Daichi and Norah. This includes their parents' stories, their own and vaguely their children's as well. Dreamscape is basically a bunch of interwoven/connected storylines though otherwise! There is no official clear cut start or end for Dreamscape however! It's just something I am constantly adding, removing and tweaking endlessly as I feel like it. There are often alternate universes/plots (AU's) for fun for some or all of the characters.Since Dreamscape started essentially as a story about a bunch of cats in a semi magical world you'll still see me mess with those elements! This can range from remnants of the magic system seen mostly with the eye color lore, fangs, angel wings and ways I draw the characters hair at times. I sometimes do it for lore and other times just for fun! In a nutshell Dreamscape has a main story but simultaneously functions as an endless sandbox to play around with whenever!
